Suraj hua maddhyam and Tera hone laga hoon were the popular duets performed by the contestants.

The October 15th episode of Saregamapa 2010 features a series of six duets by the contestants. Their tracks bring back fond memories of the Shahrukh Khan-Kajol and Ranbir-Katrina lead pairs.

Suraj Hua Maddhyam from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham with Stars Shahrukh Khan and Kajol

Shreyasi Chakraborty performed this popular duet with another male contestant. Originally sung by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik, the duet was popularized by the lead pair of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol from the 2002 film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (also referred to as K3G). The multi-starrer, a prototype of Bollywood song and dance melodrama, was a blockbuster as expected. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bacchan, Hrithik Roshan and Rani Mukherji also played prominent roles.

Suraj hua maddhyam is still famous for its lilting melody, sizzling on screen SRK-Kajol chemistry and Kajol's exotic dances set amid picturesque locales. Arguably the most popular of all Bollywood stars, their joint ventures include the blockbusters Dilwale Dulhania le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. Such was their appeal that in 2010 Bollywood once again witnessed them pair up for Karan Johar's hit My Name is Khan almost a decade after K3G.

However Shreyasi and her partner were strongly criticized by the mentors for an off tune and offbeat performance. Given the popularity of this track and all the star powers involved, it is a dangerous one to mess up and could cost the contestants dearly. Incidentally, Shreyasi is this week's eliminated contestant.

Yun Hi Chala Chal from Swades with Shahrukh Khan

Ranjeet Rajwada and Fareed Hassan treated viewers to an AR Rahman classic, Yun hi chala chal originally sung by Udit Narayan and Hariharan. The movie got positive reviews, however it was not as successful as its songs.

Ranjeet's rendition was noticeably low on power, given that this is a high energy, fast-paced track.

Jaaneja Dhoondta Phir Raha by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle

Bishakh Jyoti and Abhilasha Chillum go retro with this Kishore Kuma Asha Bhonsle evergreen from Jawani Diwani. This video is a chance to watch the young Jaya Baduri at the peak of her career, with Randhir Kapoor.

Tera Hone Laga Hoon from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Khani with Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif

Viewers were treated to one of the most popular duets in recent times. The 2009 superhit Ajab Prem ki ghazab kahani propelled Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif to the top and established them as the newest hit jodi (pair) after Shahrukh-Kajol and Hrithik-Aishwarya. .
